Important: SAPgui for Mac now requires Oracle Java 8. Oracle JDK 8 is not included in the download, so make sure to install Oracle JDK before SAPgui.

Installing

SAPgui for Mac 7.40 is the latest recommended release of the Mac SAPgui software. It supports users who need to access SAP components, products, and Dynpro functionality.

• Mac SAPgui users should plan to upgrade to this version at their earliest convenience because, while previous versions may currently work with SAP, those versions are no longer supported.

1 - Software & Hardware Requirements

• only 32 Bit Office versions are supported for BEx tools, see note 1995532.

• Versions 3.0, 4.0, 4.5 and 4.6 are supported
• Version 2.0 is mandatory and should be installed along with a newer version

2 - Downloading the installation files:

3. Download the SAP BI 7.0 Addon for SAP GUI 7.50 latest patch. See step 2 on wiki page: Current BI ADDON for SAP GUI 750
4. only for Precalculation Server: Download the Precalculation Server latest patch See step 3 on wiki page: Current BI ADDON for SAP GUI 750

3 - (Re)installation steps:

1. uninstall the Frontend and SAP GUI
   Windows > Start > Control Panel > Program and Features > remove
   - SAP Business Explorer
   - SAP GUI for Windows 7.x
   - SAP BW Preclaculation Service (only on Precalculation Server)
2. make sure that these folders are deleted:
   - C:Program Files (x86)SAPBusiness ExplorerBI
   - C:Program Files (x86)SAPBusiness ExplorerBI_Prec (only on Precalculation Server)
   - C:Program Files (x86)SAPFrontEndBw
   - C:Program Files (x86)Common FilesSAP SharedBW
3. restart the PC
4. start the Front-End Installer from Frontend-DVD:
   • Extract the SAPGUI 750 Core Frontend-DVD ZIP file.
   • Run: ...BD_NW_7.0_Presentation_7.50_Comp._2_PRES1GUIWINDOWSWIN32SetupAll.exe
   • select/install ...
     [x] SAP GUI for Windows 7.50 (Compilation 2)
     [x] Business Explorer
5. start the latest SAP GUI patch installer
6. start the latest SAP BI Addon patch installer
7. only for Precalculation Server: install SAP BW Precalculation Service
   • Run: ...BD_NW_7.0_Presentation_7.50_Comp._2_PRES1BI_PreCalServerSetupAll.exe
   • select/install ...

8. only for Precalculation Server: start the latest SAP BW Precalculation patch installer
